Understanding that it is a corporate social responsibility to be compliant with the Personal Information.Protection Law in China, Yamato International Logistics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the "Company") has instituted the following policy for handling in a proper manner such personal information that can identify a specific individual as a customer's name, address, e-mail address, etc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Personal Information") in a proper manner.
1 . Compliance with applicable Laws and Regulations.
In dealing with Personal Information, the Company will observe all applicable laws and regulations concerning protection of Personal Information, as well as the Company's internal rules.
2 . Purpose of Use
The Company will specify the purpose of use of Personal Information and will not use it beyond the specified purpose (hereinafter, "Purpose of Use"). Furthermore, The Company will not use Personal Information beyond the purpose limited by related regulations.
・ To receive orders and provide products/services ・ To verify customers' qualifications for using the products/services or to identify the customer ・ To introduce the Company's and/or its relevant companies' products/services via direct mails, etc. ・ To conduct market research and data analysis for studying and developing new products/services ・ To perform various procedures related to personnel and labor management ・ To ensure good business performance with our customers in a proper and smooth manner
3 . Acquisition of Personal Information
The Company will acquire Personal Information only to the extent necessary for its business and in a manner appropriate and lawful.
4 . Proper Management of Personal Information
The Company will take measures to prevent unlawful access to loss, destruction, falsification, leakage, etc. of Personal Data (as provided in Article 2, Paragraph 6, of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information). Personal Data will be kept accurate and up-to-date to the extent necessary for its Purpose of Use, and the Company shall endeavor to delete Personal Data without delay when the use of such data is no longer necessary.
5 . Limitation on Providing Personal Information to a Third Party
In principle, the Company will not provide Personal Data to any third party unless the Individual he or she has agreed to such use or it is authorized by law. However, the Company may provide Personal Data to third parties without the Individual's consent in any of the following cases: ?when it is necessary to entrust to a third party the handling of Personal Data that to achieve the Purpose of Use;?mergers, etc; or?shared use with specific entities separately designated.
6 . Management of Sensitive Personal Information
The Company will not acquire an Individual's sensitive information (such as, race; beliefs; social status; medical history; criminal history; facts of being a victim of a crime; or any other information that needs to be dealt with consideration in order to avoid unfair discrimination, prejudice and disadvantages to the person) unless the Company has the Individual's consent or it is authorized by law or regulation.
7 . Supervision of Contractors
When the Company entrusts a third party to handle an Individual's Personal Data, the Company shall properly supervise such third party to ensure their safe management of information, taking measures such as executingcontracts.
8 . Shared Use
With the exception of shareholders, an Individual's Personal Data will be shared among and within the Yamato Group.
9 . Enquiries for Disclosure, etc. of Personal Information
Any request or enquiries for disclosure, correction/addition/deletion or suspension/termination of use of Personal Data, addressed to our Customer Service Center, unless otherwise provided for by law, shall be, within reason, responded promptly by the Company.
10 . Management Structure
The Company will periodically conduct educational and training activities to strengthen the entire Company's approach to the protection of Personal Information.
11 . Continuous Improvements
In view of the developments in information technology and changes in societal requirements, the Company is determined to implement continuous improvements in its management structure and approaches to ensure protection of Personal Information.
